Swift 18 (Long Dogs) For Sale
Reluctant sale of our beautiful Swift 18 to fund an Atlantic crossing purchase! Before you read further our boat is in France! (I could however tow it to a ferry port on an agreed price). Built 1983 by Swiftcraft for the French Micro-Cup series. The 'unsinkable' pocket sailing cruiser/racer on a tra...

Working Jib / Storm Jib
Probably a silly question but has anyone got a working or storm jib they no longer need?
Or has anyone bought such things in recent times and know how much they are new?

Hi Barry Great news, I'm not alone :) How have you attached the clew? Directly or with a short line? Is the sail only attached at the the clew and head? Have you added something to the mast for the new halyard? Have you (or anyone else for that matter) got a loop deck fitting to the rear of the anch...

Inner Forestay
Is anyone using an inner forestay and a working jib? Just trying to work out where an inner forestay should attach.

Thanks for replying Nick. I'm probably being a bit dim but 8" offset from where? The webbing is in an awkward position. It's only because that's where the loops are on the trailer. Actually the webbing doesn't pressure the hatch and it still slides back to the webbing easily. Maybe I should find som...

Measuring Mast Rake
Does anyone know how to measure the mast rake? On our dinghy it's specified as a length from the tip of the mast to the top of the transom. I've seen the displacement type specifications for the Swift, ie. a measurement of offset of the tip of the mast from centre or as a number of degrees off centr...

Long Dogs is ready to go (we hope)
We finished the work on the inside of Long Dogs last weekend so thought we'd share the photos. They're at the end of the Gallery.
We're hoping to launch her for the first time next weekend. Any top tips would be greatly appreciated.

"Tadpole" left England and "Long Dogs" arrived in France! Many thanks to Peter for looking after "tadpole" and for his help and advice, and good luck with the new Dufour 2800 "Chusanna". We may have changed the name of the Swift but at least we kept the owners name the same. We've added 2 dogs to th...
