Aluminium Toe Rail

Post by Martin » Tue Sep 30, 2008 12:02 pm

Does anyone know where I could get the aluminium toe rail section that was fitted to the first 200 or so swift 18's?

My boat (Aquae Vitae, No 113) was damaged recently. Approx 3 feet of the port bow toe rail was ripped off (including the fairlead).

I can get the fibre glass repaired, but have not had any luck finding the toe rail section.

Or does anyone have any idea where I could get something similar?

Any help much appreciated.

Try doing a search for "toe rail" on Google and you will find lots of web sites selling various toe rail and some even state they have obsolete products. I'm not sure what the older toe rail you are looking for looks like.

John,

If you go to the members gallery and look at 'Windsong',

The toe rail on my boat is exactly like this (images IMG 0545 and 0002).

I think this is probably the most common type fittd to the swift, I don't think I've seen any other type.

I'll give google a go.

Thanks.

Hi

I seem to remember that Mike (Project boat) tried to find this stuff and drew a blank. The better news is that he can probably put you on to an acceptable alternative.
