Swift 18 wanted

Post by jon777 » Wed Sep 10, 2008 1:00 pm

I am looking for a Swift 18 with roadworthy trailer and, ideally, equipped for coastal cruising.

I am based in the North West - prepared to travel for the right boat, but would prefer North England, Wales, Midlands etc. as the South Coast is a long trip for a viewing.

If anyone is moving on to something larger at the end of the season and will have a Swift for sale then give me a shout!

I will also be selling my Anglo Marine built Gull Spirit cruising dinghy (built in 2000) as and when I get a larger boat if anyone would be interested in a part exchange.

Thanks

Thanks Martin - that is the problem really... there are quite a few Swifts for sale, but Truro and back is a 700 mile round trip (probably £100+ of diesel at today's rates plus the time involved)

Jon
Ullswater Marine had 2 Swifts for sale, but they are not on their website now, may be sold, may be worth a call anyway!

I used to dream about only having to drive 700 miles to get the right boat :)
I'm looking at nearer 1200 miles to collect ours .

I spoke to the owner of Ullswater Marine about one of the boats he had up for sale, I think it was called 'Frenesie'.
He was very honest about the boat and told me what was good and what was bad about it. For some reason it has since been removed from sale.

Do I take it that the one in the for sale section on this forum is now sold ?

There is another one advertised at Ullswater (apart from Frenesie) with a non-roadworthy trailer. I am off on holiday for 2 weeks tomorrow, but I will look at that one if she is still available when I return.

Sent a PM about the one advertised on the forum, but no response as yet.

I guess I may have to accept that some long drives will be involved!
