Values and advice for a prospective buyer

Post by Kevinbwilko » Wed Jan 06, 2010 10:23 am

Hi all, looking to buying an 'older' Swift 18 as my first trailer sailor. Can anybody give some approx values of older boats and what to look for and avoid. i.e. what will cause a divorce if I buy a cheap boat and I end up by having to spend a fortune :D
Many thanks in anticipation!

Also if anybody knows of any for sale, found one!

Hi Kevin, top quality boats fetch around five and a half k and mid range just over 4k. You may well see boats a lot cheaper than this but in this price bracket the fears you talk of may well be realised!
Regarding things to look out for, have a look at the downloadable check list in the for sale section. Best of luck with your search.

Thanks for your help, been spending some time on web site and found lots of info so thanks to all, the only problem is finding a boat. Got a couple but in some cases sellers don't seem to want to sell, must be the cold!
