I sail in Poole Harbour and Bay in a Skipper 17 but have just bought a
swift to renovate..

If you got your boat down here it's a very safe area and anchorages are
available.

Contact me if you want any information.

Hi John

I currently sail my Swift from Fowey but there are no permanent moorings available down there nor are there likely to be for the forseeable future so it's a case of storage on the hard and launch for use cost around £700 pa with winter storage

How much are moorings where you are in Poole - i've always imagined it to be quite an expensive area

Hi Ian,

I'm a member of North Haven Yacht Club in Poole and have a drying
mooring.. Membership, mooring and Crown Estate dues came to around £350
last year. Other clubs charge a lot more and the Wareham river is
probably the next best option..
The hard at Ridge Wharf is £260 winter, £450 summer.
For a weeks holiday you could launch at Ridge and anchor in the harbour.
That way your car an trailer should be safe.

Thanks Ian.

Poole is expensive except for North Haven Yacht Club which now has a waiting list. See their web site for details

Thanks thats very useful to know

Living so far away (Nottingham) its difficult to join a yacht club which has requirments to do "duties" safety boat etc but I am now used to launching each time I use curlew so the Ridge option mjay be favourite.

Thanks again

Ian
