Replacement Mast and Boom?

Post by Pat » Fri Dec 08, 2006 12:34 pm

Hello Again from Angola!

The Swift Brochure states that Holt - Allen supplied the spars. I cannot find HA on the web, are they defunct?

Has anyone got the Swift specification for spars?, I've got a tapered mast.

Has anyone bought a new set recently and can point me to a supplier?

Holtallen are still in business but I'm not sure whether they still make masts. Their web address is www.holt.eu/ . Looking on your photo your mast looks like an original and if so should be a few cm over 8 meters

By the way did you know that, according to the swift association register of owners, your boat was first owned by O Kerwin of Bournmouth. How did it end up in Angola?

Many Thanks Terry

Holt Allen are still going on the web, but they seem to have stopped producing spars.

I don't know how it ended up here, it's been at the Clube for some years. I've met two previous owners but they both bought it from local people. I think every thing on it is original, even the loo. Haven't bought it yet, hope to get access again over the w/e and unfurl the jib - suspect it's got a bit of uvitis.
