I'm just about to redo the headlining etc and having stripped all the foam and vinyl from the coachroof, I've exposed the chainplates. They seem very close to the windows and I was wondering if it was worth the bother of tying them to the hull somehow. Perhaps extending the backing plate and then using a turnbuckle to connect it to the hull where the inner molding joins the hull and its double thickness? Anyone else done anything similar or is the coachroof strong enough and I should leave as is?
I welcome anyones thoughts!
Robin.
