What is the usual system for securing the tack of the mainsail when reefed? My boat has come with a length of rope spliced onto a mast cleat, which passes through the cringle in the sail, and is secured to the otherside of the mast in a jamming cleat. some pictures in the gallery show a stainless steel hook through a ring which forms part of the gooseneck which looks much more secure!

I think ram's horns are fairly standard on most swift. What you've got sounds like something that might make reefing single handed a bit easier (depending on how it's set up.)

Thanks. Sadly, I think it is more likely to come undone at some inopportune moment! Replacing it with Rams Horns would be much better. Do you know if they easily fitted, or where I might come by them?
