forestay cable /roller unit
Sugest you change the cable, the roller reefing unit, uses the forestay cable as one. Allthough the cable is 4mm (1by19)and should have ample extra load built in, better be safe , than have it snap under load..... think what you could loose.!!!!! Have just bonded a small thin alloy (chequer plate)pad onto where you put your foot ,when you step into the cabin(KEELBOX/COVER) Iknow most of you will have something to stop your foot slippiing,but I have some small bits left . engine bay insert (GRP) bronze saddle for lifting keel
Just to clarify my thoughts,my idea is to make new cast bronze saddle (housing)that the s/s threaded rod fits into,that lifts the keel. This will be machined out and theaded to take the existing s/s threaded shaft. this will be the bronze unit ONLY, NOT THE S/S ARMS(that pivot) NOR THE MOUNTING PLAT...

Hi, Try phoning a couple of sail makers, I have found jeckles,and kemp both helpfull, and both have the swift data. Depends on your sailing as to size, and cut , mine is about 150% so is on par.! for the genny, my main was made by kemp, but is a little bigger than norm. will try and measure a ORIGIN...

Hi, Not a problem to do it yourself,save you money to!! boat needs to be out,(ON TRAILER) to service and repair,and to anti foul. you would sevice it and anti foul,at the end of the season(WINTER LAYUP) but if allways mored and not trailered home,sugest every two years?....KEEL/ WINDING GEAR,ETC. yo...
