Andy Thanks for your reply. Must admit I had not thought about the original rigging having stretched - presumably neither had the company who did my rerigging using the old as a template ! Not sure but I guess it ought to be possible to remove the talurit eyes at the mast end and shorten the rigging...

Rigging Tensions
Hi Andy I managed to obtain some tension figures off the internet but I'm having difficulty achieving them. It suggests a tension of around 10% -12% of breaking strain which equates to around 150kg -180kg or around 32on the Loos scale. Im having difficulty getting beyond 25 on the Loos scale with th...

Hi Andy Thanks for your response. No I dont have a manual with my guage all it came with was a piece of card which showed how to test the tension. I have just had the standing rigging remade and I fixed it to the mast at the weekend so I'm very much in the dark about what the correst tension should ...

Hi Andy I too have a Loos tension guage and it does indeed appear easy to use and to check what the existing tensions are. Problem is I have no idea what they are supposed to be and the guage gives no indication of whether the tenions are within acceptable parameters. Did you manage to find out what...

Nationwide Boat Sales
Hi Terry
If the Nationwide Boat Sales that you refer to is the one near Chesterfield which is only some 15 miles from me the reason you did not get a reply is that they have ceased trading - at least from the Chesterfield site which I understand is to be redeveloped for housing.
