Re: Rudder Gudgeon/pintel slop
Hi there, I have just had my rudder welded and needed to replace a bush at the bottom. I bought some 200mm long nylon rod with a 14mm diameter and had a friend drill it for me and reduce the diameter very slight and that worked. Hope that helps.

Re: Catch up
Just seen your post and yes there are some of us still out here. Where to you keep your boat? I keep my boat Bebop on Graham water and have been sailing since late April this year. Did have a problem with my rudder in that it cracked at the bottom which I had repaired and refitted it on Tuesday so ...
Re: outboard
Hi Steve,
I went for the short shaft one which was about the same size as my old petrol o/b. When I bought the other electric trolling o/b I went for a longer shaft but really it was too long although it did the job.
Regards, David

Re: outboard
Hi Steve Just seen your message re electric o/b. As I now sail my Swift on Grafham Water, I did buy one of the trawling type o/b (54 lbs thrust). This was Ok in light winds or no wind to get me back to the mooring. This year I did invest in a Torqeedo Traveller (1103) and this is much better and ...

Re: New keel lift mech supplier
Hi Fishy Well Bebop is finally fixed and I collected her from Suffolk Yacht Harbour yesterday. I have to say that SWP were excellent and would thoroughly recommend them if other Swift owners have problems with the keel mechanism. Only downside is that I am looking to put her away for the season, but ...

Re: New keel lift mech supplier
Hi Just phoned SYH to see how my keel repair is and they still haven't done it, plus the service director seemed quite off with me stating that there was a 7 week lead time to get the bar. They have had it 7 weeks!!! Anyway I have again spoken to SWP and spoke to a very helpful Graham who asked me ...

Re: New keel lift mech supplier
Hi
Still having problems getting my keel lifting gear sorted with SYH. Just spoken to SWP about doing the same job for me, any idea of costs?

Re: Curious about Swifties demise
Good morning current Swift owners, Just returned from having a great week on the River Orwell and took Bebop around to the Walton Back Waters. All was going well until we took the boat off the water on Thursday. When raising the keel had this horrible noise. I think the thread has gone. So I have ...

Re: Curious about Swifties demise
Good morning I still have a Swift 18 which I sail on Grafham Water and a great little boat. Glad to see that there is still some interest out there as regards the Swift 18. Mine is currently at home getting her ready for the season. Pity there doesn’t seem to be rallies anymore though. Hope you have ...

Outboard Well Hatch
I now sail Bebop on Grafham Water where we are not allowed to use outboards. My understanding is that the Swift 18 had a outboard well hatch to stop build up of water in the well when sailing. As i now rarely use an outboard and if I do it is now an electric one, does anyone have pictures or ...

Re: Sprayhoods
Hi Rick I bought my Swift (Bebop) in August 2016 and the spray hood was made by C&J Marine. It is shown on their website. Not sure what the cost was. Recently bought a mainmast (stack pack) from Jeckells Sailmakers and they done me a really good deal compared with C&J, so may be worth asking them ...
