ARABESQUE NOW SOLD!

Hello Everyone, After eight great years and many experiences, "ARABESQUE" is now, with a sad sigh, sold. She has gone to a lovely couple who we are confident will look after her with as much love as we have. Look out for her in the Exeter area. Good luck and best wishes for her future years on the w...

She's left me!!

Hi Terry, Firstly, not been on the website for a while... work (yawn) commitments etc. So just seen your latest post. So commiserations and congratulations in order. Sad to see Seren go, but not entirely surprised by choice of new boat. As, if and when we decide to upscale, a Sadler would probably b...

Footloose

Hello there, Thanks for the reply. I think I'll follow suit and go for a loose footed main. I haven't really heard anything too negative about this method, also Kemps who suggested this, just happen to be the best on price!!! Our first trip out will hopefully be the last week in March. Could be a wr...

Footloose

Hello Everyone again!! Well I've got me mainsail quotes in now and at the moment its a close run thing between Kemps and Jeckells. Kemps seem to be hedging towards loose footed design. I can see advantage of this if I go for Packaway system too, as the narrowish slot in the boom would have to accomo...

Thanks for the advice everyone, will now get some quotes in. Think I'll get them to advise/quote on the packaway system seperately. Only joking Terry!! Also looking forward to seeing you in the spring, when you can help me fit lazyjacks etc. Where/how do they attach? Your "New Boat". Very cryptic......

New Mainsail

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year to all, from what could possibly be the last members of the North Wales Swifties! As the VAT has now gone up to 20% we are contemplating the purchase of a new mainsail!!! To make life easier for ourselves we are thinking about lazyjacks and a packaway system, no mor...

A Swift departure

Gary, Ruth & Skip, A sad day indeed. I hope Skipper is feeling suitably chastened... Perhaps its not so much a case of "We need a bigger boat, but more of Skip needs a bigger holding tank!!" Hope the boat ad includes Welsh Dresser, Patio Windows and 42" Plasma screen Telly. These are all cleverly in...

Outboards

Terry,
Don't know if you've tried them, but Tim at Menai Marine in Caernarfon Victoria Dock is very knowledgeable on the Tohatsu. It's where we got ours from and have it serviced there.
Just an idea.

New Genoa

Hi Everyone, We're considering the purchase of a new roller reefing genoa for the 2009 season. Might as well spend some money as put it anywhere to moulder away! Anyway, the original is getting a bit tatty so we thought we'd put feelers out and see if and who has done likewise, any prices/suppliers/...
