Tadpole Goes To France

Well thats it, "Tadpole" is sold and on her way to France. Peter and Jan took "Tadpole" from our home last weekend and started the trip to france (by road). "Tadpole" has been a delight to sail and will be missed by both myself and my wife. I have enjoyed the exciting sailing on the south coast and ...

Time to go Large

Sad but Excited. :(( We are looking for a 30 footer and it is time for Tadpole to be sold. We have had many happy hours and a lot of exciting times while sailing Tadpole. She has taken us on many adventures in rough weather around the Solent and further west in the waters of Salcombe and Plymouth. W...

Thanks Terry
I will have a go. I think I will need to wait for a dry day so I can get them out to dry.

Washing Bunk Covers

Hi
Has anyone M/C washed their zip on bunk covers? I have just taken all my covers off ready to wash but the more I look at them the more I am not sure I should put them in the washing m/c.

clipper wind

Hi David <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]> I have a Clipper Wind on Tadpole and although it was fitted when I got her the standard masthead kit seems to do just fine. The only problem I have had is with the through deck plug and socket. The last owner fitted the unit and used Bulgin Buccaneer 6 ...

INCASTEC MINI DEPTH SOUNDER

Hi <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]> Nasa have been also been very helpful to me. My Clipper Wind was not working and after talking to Nasa they sent me a diagram of the original cable connections in their plug. This showed that the last owner had not connected the cable screen in the through de...

Clean Crew

Greasing the keel lifting gear bearing has given me a couple of issues. 1 I am concerned about dirt ingress into the bearing sticking to the grease and damaging my nice new bearing. 2 I think there is a good chance that I or my family are going to get grease on bedding and clothes. I have overcome b...

Keel Winding Gear

Hi Ed Yes we launched her from Batson Slip (Boat Park). We spend a lot of time in Salcombe but this is the first trip down there for Tadpole . I have fixed the Cracking Noise from the keel winding gear today. I managed to take the boat into work and park under an old lifting frame we have in the scr...

[Swift 18] NEW BRONZE WINDING GEAR /OUTBOARD INSERT

Mike

I would be very interested in a complete bronze / screw unit. I am going to inspect mine on Tadpole tomorrow but would change it anyway as its so important.

Keel Winding Gear

Hi We got Tadpole in the water for the fist time last week and had a great couple of days sailing in and out of Salcombe. However I am just a little concerned about the winding gear for the keel. When I lowered the keel the first 2 turns or so made several cracking sounds but she went down smooth en...

Buying a boat checklist

Tony <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]> Glad you got a good boat as I think I did. However I would be very interested in seeing your check list, if only for ideas of things to check that I may not have looked at on Tadpole . <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]> <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endi...

Headlining supplier

Hi
I would like to have the headlining replaced in Tadpole but do not have the time to do the work myself. Does anyone know or has anyone used a contractor who would do the complete job?
What I really need is a trimmer who could have the boat on the trailer and re line the cabin.
