Mariner or Tohatsu 4, 5 or 6hp

If you sail in sheltered inland waters then a 4hp would be fine. I sail in a strong tidal area and if combined with strong winds, I think you would be a bit safer with a 6HP Regards Steve -----Original Message----- From: tmackey [mailto:forum-outboards@swift18.org] Sent: 20 September 2013 16:11 To: ...

Mariner or Tohatsu 4, 5 or 6hp

I have a Tohatsu 6hp fitted to my boat. It fits ok by you will have to remove the well cover or modify it to raise it up slightly. I can enclose a photo if you like Cheers Steve -----Original Message----- From: tmackey [mailto:forum-outboards@swift18.org] Sent: 20 September 2013 15:46 To: forum-outb...

Handicap woes

I don't race my Swift, but I definitely agree with you on the speed. The swift 18 is a superb family cruising trailer sailor but trying to sail mine to windward is like pulling teeth. I got into a friendly tussle with a Hawk 20 a few weeks ago on a long beat back to Dale and I was soundly beaten!! -...

trailer prices

Your trailer is exactly like mine and mine is a SBS trailer (Wolverhampton). Yours could be a modified version because I don't believe the original trailers had 5 studs!! -----Original Message----- From: whiteede [mailto:forum-wanted@swift18.org] Sent: 30 July 2008 18:03 To: forum-wanted@swift18.org...

A Frame anyone?

Terry, On our boat Windsong, these U bolts are either side of the mast but slightly further aft. Ours were used by a previous owner to attach blocks for Storm Jib sheets to be led back to the cockpit. Can you supply a photo to confirm ? Using a Loos tension gauge

Ian, I got this document from the old Swift site last year.
